Dear Holy Spirit Prep Families
Know that you and your children will be very specifically in my prayers during the Triduum and Easter. I hope you are able to enjoy some special family time over the next few days.
The Holy Week schedule at Holy Spirit Catholic Church may be found in the link below.
Holy Spirit Catholic Church Holy Week Schedule
As we enter the Triduum, I invite you to read the message below from our Head Chaplain, Father Juan.
In Christ,
Ed Lindekugel Head of School
Do you ever struggle to pray? Is it hard to stay focused when so many other things catch our attention? And if we are being honest, do you ever find it boring? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, well do I have a three day adventure for you!
We have never performed a miracle (well I haven’t), we have not given sight to a single blind person, or even thought about walking on water or expelling a demon. When Our Lord performs these mighty deeds in the Gospel we are invited again and again to recognize in him someone who is more than simply a man.
As we enter the Triduum, the miracles expected by onlookers are set aside. Instead we see evil happen to the Miracle Worker himself, and yet he performs no mighty deed. We see a man who suffers betrayal, false accusations, physical violence, abandonment, … There is no stop to it until he breathes his last on the cross on Friday.
It is perhaps during this time that God is opening a path for us to go deeper in our own prayer life. In varying degrees, we have all experienced evil of some sort. Perhaps some of these challenges persist. I see in Christ someone who bears it all with great patience, humility, and love. I see in myself outbursts of internal rebellion when confronted with much smaller injustices.
In the Gospel we hear that he found privileged places to teach from: the top of a mountain, a boat some distance from the shore. These days he will be using a quiet garden, Pilate’s court, a cross, a tomb…
As he performed his miracles the sacred authors remark that “the crowd sought to touch him, for power came forth from him and healed them all” (Lk 6:19). Few dare touch him as he walks towards the cross, but those who dare like Veronica, Simon of Cyrene, and the centurion also experience that power came forth and healed them.
This experience is not locked away in the past. Blessed Columba Marmion teaches, “When we contemplate the sufferings of Jesus, He grants us, according to the measure of our faith, grace to practice the virtues which He revealed during those holy hours” (Christ in His Mysteries). Christ’s Passion constitutes the “Holy of Holies” among his mysteries. Let us enter there with prayerful hearts, hearts that long to be transformed. Let us reach out and try touching Our Lord in prayer that power might again come forth from him and heal us all.
Have a Blessed Sacred Triduum and a joyful Easter!
With prayers,
Fr Juan José Hernández, LC

Our Lower and Middle Schools participated in the Stations of the Cross today. Students were led through each station by some of our 8th grade campus leaders. It was a beautiful time of prayer and reflection during our time in Holy Week together as we look toward Easter.
At the Upper School, we prepared our hearts to enter into the Easter Triduum with a half day Lenten Retreat today. This consisted of time of prayer with Adoration, a student led Rosary, and Confessions. We closed our time of retreat with the Mass.
Juniors and Seniors are invited to read the following College Newsletter dated March 25, 2022.
Dear HSP families in Christ,
High school students are invited to our second Summer Leadership Course.
The objective of this course is to bring young men and women in front of some business leaders where they will have the opportunity to interact with them. The men and women will be able to share their stories about what they did to make it to the position they are in, what attracted them, some of the principles they use to guide their lives, and what role Faith plays in this journey.
We will be staying at Georgia Tech, where we will be commuting as a group to visit the business leaders, either in their offices, homes, or other venues.
Dates for the course are June 12-19. Arriving Sunday (June 12) evening and departing Sunday (June 19) morning after Mass.
Activities consist of visiting places of work, planning and running a service project, learning classic etiquette, enjoying time for games, and participating in the Sacraments.
Should you have any questions, please contact:
Fr. Andrew Gronotte

This Week at Holy Spirit
Weekly Bulletin
On Saturday April 9, 2022, the HSP Wind Symphony performed in its first competition at the “Music in the Parks Festival” at Universal Studios, Orlando.
The Wind Symphony performed their hearts out and received one Superior and one Excellent rating from the two adjudicators, for an overall rating of Excellent. As a testament to how well they played, they were just half a point from receiving an overall Superior rating, the highest rating possible. This accomplishment is truly amazing considering that the overwhelming majority of the HSP band students started on their instruments a mere 18 months ago, as compared to the band that took first place in this competition, an Arts Academy, which consisted of students who have been playing their instruments 6-7 years. Mr. Insalaca and Mr. Kieffer took this group of students, most of whom have never picked up a wind instrument in their lives, and molded them into a group of young men and women capable of making beautiful music. This was no easy accomplishment as the Wind Symphony's first year of instruction occurred during early COVID when the band could not meet together in one space due to safety concerns, instead meeting in smaller groups and coming together periodically during Cougar periods. This festival highlights the many hours of practice and dedicated effort involved in the process of creating art and will undoubtedly be the first in a long line of successes for the HSP Wind Symphony!
