Dear Holy Spirit Preparatory Families,
What an incredible first week back at school! It is truly a privilege and a joy to be a part of this community.
It was with much excitement that we welcomed our students to campus on Wednesday morning.
Our Lower School and Middle School started the school year by celebrating Mass on Thursday and Friday respectively.
As is tradition, the Upper School celebrated our first day of school Candlelight Mass on Wednesday. Several years ago, a power outage during the first Mass of the year caused the sanctuary to be illuminated only by the altar candles. Since that year, the Upper School has always started the school year with a Candlelight Mass. The little flames remind us that we are called always to remain close to the light of Christ, and with him, to go out into the world and share it.
Please enjoy the below pictures from various moments that took place across each campus!
Sincerely,
Michelle Bertany
Pete Radosta
Georgia Tate

Lower and Middle School boys are invited to join the Boys Club every Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, starting on August 16.
The Boys Club is a program run by Father Andrew with the help of missionary volunteers who are taking a gap year before college to help minister to our youth.
Students in the Boys Club will play sports, learn about a saint and a virtue as well as have a snack. The Middle School students help the Lower School students prepare a presentation about what they learned. This provides a great opportunity for students to learn about healthy leadership and virtues, while having fun.
Students who register to join the Boys Club will be picked up from their classrooms at dismissal time. Unless there is inclement weather, students may be picked up from the soccer field at 4:30pm.
Registration is required on the form below (even if you have emailed Father Andrew about participation)

HSP is happy to continue their association with the Ascension Music Academy to offer music lessons on both our campuses.
Performing music every day has a direct correlation to higher test scores, aptitude, and critical thinking skills. Numerous studies show that students who perform in their school performing ensembles daily score from 200-500 points higher on the SAT, depending on their level of musical advancement. Students at the All-State Level score closer to 500 mark. Almost every All-State student takes private lessons. There is no better way to master your instrument than to receive one on one instruction.
If you are interested in registering for the fall semester, please fill out this form and return it, with payment, to either school’s front desk. Please contact our Fine Arts Director, Len Insalaca (Linsalaca@holyspiritprep.org), if you have any questions or would like more information.

Calling all Cougar Fans! It's time to the 2022-23 Athletic Booster Club!
Support our student athletes through joining the Holy Spirit Prep Athletic Booster Club!
The Holy Spirit Prep Athletic Booster Club has one goal - to enhance the experience of our student athletes on all three campuses. The HSP Athletic Booster Club funds will enhance our budget, allowing us to provide supplemental equipment, coaching, and programs to improve the athletics experience for all our students. These funds will be obtained through HSP Athletic Booster Club membership, restricted athletics donations, Casino Night revenue, spirit gear sales, and event ticket and concession sales.
The HSP Athletic Booster Club recognizes that participation in school athletics benefits everyone. In addition to financial support, the HSPABC promotes opportunities to build and strengthen relationships among all constituencies through enthusiastic participation of volunteers, students, coaches, parents, school faculty and staff, sponsors, community members, alumni and grandparents.
Depending on the level of membership, personalized admission passes will be issued to you for a select number or all regular season home games!

Varsity Cross Country - Davis Braun "Davis has been a great leader and has been working extremely hard at practice. Keep up the great work" - Coach Spino
Middle School Cross Country - Luke Sacco "Luke has been very committed to his training coming to practice each day with a wonderful attitude." - Coach Spino
Varsity Clay Targets - Dillon Harrington "Dillon is a sophomore, who is showing his generosity to the new members of the team, by assisting them in learning the rules and etiquette of our sport. He is willing and able to share his expertise, in assisting his team, during practice. His warm and welcoming smile exudes joy. I am honored to nominate him for Athlete of the Week." Coach Magnusson
Middle School Cheer - Evelyn Labbe "Evelyn was the perfect example of generosity last weekend at our GISA Cheer Day! She selflessly gave 100% to her team in a very overwhelming environment. I was very proud of her and the entire middle school cheer team for their confidence, efforts, and grace. :) Go Cougars!!" - Coach Bailey
Varsity Cheer - Layelin Zamora Layelin is new to the cheer team this year, and she has already improved greatly in her memorization and technique. During our UCA camp over the summer, Layelin tried out for All-American which is one of the highest honors for a high school cheerleader. She nailed her tryout and was one of the only new girls to earn the honor! I'm so proud of her!" - Coach Gallagher
Varsity Volleyball - Reagan Twomey "Reagan is brand new to HSP and has truly hit the ground running this volleyball season. She seamlessly joined the group on the Varsity team and has been an asset at each practice and match thus far. Last night in the match against Cherokee Christian, Reagan averaged 11 assists per set, and finished the game with an additional 2 kills, a block, and 3 service aces." - Coach Bridget
